"SUTTON, a parish and post town in the second division of Wallington hundred, county Surrey, 3½ miles N.E. of Ewell, 4 W. of Croydon, and 5 N.E. of Epsom. It is a station on the Epsom railway. The village is situated on the old road to Reigate and Brighton. "
