"FULFORD, a liberty and chapelry in the parish of Stone, hundred of South Pirehill, county Stafford, 4 miles S.W. of Cheadle, and 6 N.E. of Stone, its post town and nearest railway station on the North Staffordshire line. The stone-quarries of this place afford employment to many of the people.

The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Lichfield, value £129. The church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, is a modern Gothic structure, erected on the site of the old chapel. The charities produce nearly £24 per annum. There is a National school, partly endowed."

"BURSTON, a joint township and chapelry with Aston, in the parish of Stone, hundred of Pirehill, in the county of Stafford, 4 miles to the S.E. of Stone, its post town. It is near the river Trent and the North Staffordshire railway."

"STOKE, a township in the parish of Stone, county Stafford, 1 mile S.E. of Stone, on the North Stafford railway and Grand Trunk canal, near the river Trent. It is in conjunction with Aston."
