"BUSHLEY, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Pershore, in the county of Worcester, 5 miles to the S. of Upton, and 2 miles to the N. of Tewkesbury, in Gloucestershire, its post town. It lies on the W. bank of the river Severn, not far from the Bristol and Birmingham railway. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Worcester, value £58, in the patronage of J. E. Dowdeswell, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. There is a small free school, and endowments for the poor producing about £12 a year. Pull Court, pleasantly seated by the Severn, is the seat of the Dowdeswells. It was formerly a possession of the abbey of Tewkesbury."
