"CORTON HACKETT, (or Coston), a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Halfshire, in the county of Worcester, 5 miles N.E. of Bromsgrove, and 11½ W. of Kidderminster. Redditch is its post town. The living is a curacy annexed to the rectory of Northfield, in the diocese of Worcester, in the patronage of the Rev. J. Fenwick. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is an ancient Gothic structure. The Birmingham and Bristol line runs through this parish. Grovely Hall and Coston Hall are the principal seats. [Not an "OCR-o" - the original genuinely does record as CoRton (not CoFton) - RL 2006]
