The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

"FLADBURY, a parish in the middle division of the hundred of Oswaldslow, county Worcester, 3 miles E. of Pershore, and 3½ N.W. of Evesham. It is a station on the Oxford and Worcester line of railway. The parish, which is delightfully situated in the Vale of Evesham, includes the hamlets of Abbots Lench, Hill, and Stock. The river Avon, which is navigable from the Severn, flows through the parish, affording facilities for the conveyance of coal and agricultural produce. The village is situated about a mile off the main road from Worcester to London. The men are chiefly engaged in agricultural pursuits, and the women in glove-making. Its Saxon name was Fleathanbyrig.
The living is a rectory* [the asterisk denotes that there is a parsonage and glebe belonging to the living] in the diocese of Worcester, of the value with the curacies of Bradley, Stock, Throckmorton, and Wyre-Piddle annexed, of £721, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is a handsome stone edifice of ancient date, with a recent tower. It is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. In it are numerous monuments, tablets, tombs, and brasses of the Throckmortons, Peytons, and other families. There are chapels-of-ease at Bradley, Throckmorton, and Wyre-Piddle. The Wesleyans have a chapel. The endowments for the benefit of the poor and church purposes produce about £60 per annum. There is a National school for the children of the parish. Cracombe House is the principal residence."

"MOOR, a hamlet in the parish of Fladbury, county Worcester, 2 miles N.E. of Pershore. It is situated near the river Avon, and in conjunction with Hill forms a township."
"STOCK AND BRADLEY, a chapelry in the parish of Fladbury, middle division of Oswaldslow hundred, county Worcester, 6 miles S.E. of Droitwich, its post town, and 4 E. of the Droitwich railway station. The living is a curacy annexed to the rectory of Fladbury, in the diocese of Worcester. The church has a tower containing three bells. There is a clothing club."
