"STANFORD-ON-TEAME, a parish in the upper division of Doddingtree hundred, county Worcester, 13 miles N.E. of Worcester, its post town, and 6 N.W. of Martley. The village, which is small, is situated on the river Teame, and is chiefly agricultural. The living is a rectory* [the asterisk denotes that there is a parsonage and glebe belonging to the living] in the diocese of Hereford, value £260. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, has a tower and four bells. It was rebuilt in 1768. Stanford Court is a manor situated in an extensive park, containing the Stone House Hermitage."
