The place:

In the parishes of Acaster-Malbis, and St. Denys, York, wapentake of Ouse and Derwent; 4 miles from York, 11 from Selby, 15 from Pocklington. Population 366. The Church is a perpetual curacy, in the deanery of Bulmer.
