"FOSTON ON THE WOLDS, a parish in the wapentake of Dickering; 6 miles ESE. of Driffield, 11 from Bridlington, 35 from York. The Church is a vicarage. dedicated to St . Andrew (see Churches for photograph), in the deanry of Dickering, value, £15l. 8s. 6½d. p r. £36. Patron, W. Wright, Esq. and the Rev. Sidney Smith rector; there are also Methodist and Calvinist chapels. Pop. 300.""BRIGHAM, in the parish of Foston on the Wolds, and wapentake of Dickering; 2 miles SW. of Foston on the Wolds, 5 miles SE. of Driffield. Pop. 103."
