| In Loving Memory of CYRIL BLAND 1922-2013 Rest in Peace A Note by Lynn Thomson (now Bennett): I was born & lived in Burnby. My mum went tattie picking for Tom and Cyril when I was just a couple of years old. Tom sat me in the cart and the horse moved a few steps at a time to allow the ladies to tip their metal baskets full of tatties into the cart. When I was a bit older I was allowed to hold the reins and move the horse along - of course the horse moved itself! Cyril and Tom were lovely men, especially Tom, he was so kind. |  |
