WILLIAM WOODHOUSE gave by deed dated March 14th, 1624, for the use of the Poor of Hemingbrough for ever a Close at Hemingbrough, called Proud Foot Close.

Twenty Shillings per annum out of a Close at Hemingbrough, called Hag Lane Close. Wm. Kirlew, of Hemingbrough, present Owner. The Donor unknown.

Ten Shillings per annum out of a Close at Hemingbrough, called North Field Close. Morley Wharry, Esq., of Selby, present Owner. The Donor unknown.

Mr. Sharrow left Seven Shillings per annum to be paid out of Barmby Sieve Carr. Mr. John Harrison, of Babthorpe, present Owner. The above-mentioned Donations are distributed to the Poor of Hemingborough at the discretion of their Churchwardens and Overseers.

John Allison, of Lund, gave Forty shillings per annum out of an House and Land, at Lund aforesaid, to be distributed in Bread to the Poor of Hemingbrough on every Lord's Day for ever.

And as an addition to the same, Joseph Underwood, of this town, gave by surrender, in 1780, Twelve Shillings per annum out of certain Lands in this Town Fields, to be distributed in Bread at the same time and in like manner.

Thomas Steele, Esq., late of London, left by Will, dated December 4th, 1787, Twelve Pounds per annum to be distributed as follows, viz., To Twelve Poor Women of this parish having no relief from said parish, to each, one 3d. Loaf, to be given in the Church after Divine Service by the Minister and Churchwardenson every Lord's Day. Also One Guinea per annum to the Vicar for preaching a Sermon on every Old Lady Dayor the following Sunday. To the Clerk Two Shillings and Sixpence; the remainder to the Organist. Extract from Codicil in Chest in Vestry. £300 New Consols were in 1890 transferred into the name of the Official Trustee of Charitable Bequests.

Robert Allen, of Menthorpe, left to the Vicar of Hemingbrough by Will dated May 30th, 1733, Ten Shillings per annum, payable out of his House and Lands at Menthorpe aforesaid, in the possession of Mr. Wm. Chaplin of Bubworth, for preaching an Anniversary Sermon on every 29th of May.

William Baxter, late of Cliffe, in the year 1745 gave Ten Shillings per annum to the Vicar of Hemingbrough for ever for preaching a Sermon on the Ascension Day, payable out of his estate at Cliffe aforesaid, now in the possession of of John Dunnington, Esq., of Thorganby.

The Annual Rent of a Cottage and Garth at Cliffe-with-Lund, distributed at the discretion of their Churchwardens and Overseers. - The Donor unknown.

Also the Annual Rent of a Piece of Land in the said township, by estimation Four Acres, called Dales : distributed to the Poor of Cliff-with-Lund in manner above mentioned. - The Donor unknown.

The Annual Rent of Three Closes in the Township of Hemingbrough, called Cowlam Closes, by estimation Seven Acres : distributed to the Poor of South Duffield and Osgodby by Mr. Wm. Haddlesey, the present Trustee. - The Donor unknown.

A Close in the Township of Barlby called Schools Close : the Annual Rent thereof paid to the Schoolmaster of Hemingbrough by the Overseers for teaching Four Poor Children of Hemingbrough to read English. - The Donor unknown.

Mary Waud left in the year 1708 Two Hundred Pounds to build and endow a school at Cliffe, whereof One Hundred Pounds and Eighty Pounds have since been laid out in the purchase of 14a. 3r. Of Land in the Township of Knedlington; the annual rent, £14. The remaining Twenty Pounds are put out at interest, which said rent and interest are paid to the Schoolmaster by Mr. Joseph Baxter, the only surviving Trustee, for teaching 20 Poor Children of Cliffe-withLund.
