Hessay
In memory of
JAMES HARWOOD HESSAY
the son of WILLIAM and
ANN HESSAY who departed
this life January the 8th 1841,
aged 4 years and 6 months.
Also of ELIZA, their daughter,
who died January 23rd 1841,
aged 3 years.
Tender buds, so young and fair,
Call'd to an early tomb;
Just come to show how sweet the flowers,
In paradise will bloom.
Ah lovely babes from us so early (fr?)ed,
We loved you living, and lament ye dead;
With grief of heart, and love sincere,
we here inscribe these lines,
And drop a heartfelt tear.
This tribute of respect
was erected through the kind
liberality of Mrs. ST. QUENTON.
Also three daughters,
of the above named
WILLIAM and ANN HESSAY, viz:
FRANCES, died October 21st 1842,
aged 1 year and six months.
FRANCES ELIZA, died May 15th 1850,
aged 7 years.
FANNY, died May 23rd 1850,
aged 2 years.
