NOTICE

All Volunteers belonging to the above Regiment of Militia, who have been
enrolled since the 7th May, 1866, are hereby ordered to assemble at the
MILITIA BARRACKS, BEVERLEY, punctually at Nine o'clock a.m.
on Monday, the 15th of April, 1867, for Fourteen days' preliminary Drill,
and twenty-seven days' Training and Exercise.
NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN
That all men enrolled as Volunteers in the East York Regiment of Militia,
are required to ASSEMBLE at the MILITIA BARRACKS, BEVERLEY,
punctually at Nine o'clock a.m., on MONDAY, the 29th of April, 1867, for
Twenty-seven days' Training and Exercise.
Any Volunteer failing to appear after this Notice, (unless incapacitated by
sickness duly certified), will be proceeded against as a Deserter, under 22nd
and 23rd Vict., cap. 38, sect. 12. The penalty being a Fine of £20 or
Six months imprisonment.
Each man attending will receive £1 1s. BOUNTY and a portion of his kit
at the termination of the Training.
If the Volunteer is temporarily absent from his County, or has no funds to pay his
travelling expenses in joining the Head Quarters at the date and time specified above,
he should apply either to the Adjutant of his own Regiment, or of the Regiment nearest
his place of residence, for Railway or Passage Warrants, but in all such cases, the
Volunteer must clearly understand that the expense incurred for Travelling for any
distance beyond the borders of the County will be recovered from any Bounty or Pay
which may become due at Training.
Every Militia Volunteer is required to notify to the Adjutant any change in his residence,
and, if absent from a Training, although he may not personally have received Notice to attend,
is liable to be dealt with as a Deserter. The Notice on the Church Doors, Chapels, &c.,
shall be deemed sufficient.
