Geographical and Historical information from the year 1750.

"ROOS, a parish in the E.R. of Yorkshire, (given as "ROSSE"), in Holderness, near the sea, gave name and title to the Rosses of emlake, Werk, and Kendale; the first whereof, and from which the others descended, enjoyed this manor many descents,"
