The former United Board Church, Catterick Garrison

The former United Board Church, Catterick Garrison
I am the centre manager at St John's Centre and reading old information about the centre it was once called the United Board Church, built in 1937 at a cost of £2100.00. It still has the original Font inside the building which is accessible under our stage area. It was actually used for the first time in years last year. Once filled the water is kept warm by the heating pipes that run through it. It is a Font where you walk down steps to be dunked in!!! The centre is now used as a day care centre for older people to come and meet 3 days a week. Some of the members were actually married in this church. [Jacqueline Brakenberry]
