The place:

A Chapelry in the parish of Strensall, wapentake of Bulmer, Liberty of St. Peter, partly in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Precentorship of York, and partly in the peculiar jurisdiction of Strensall prebendary; 4 miles from York, 10 from Easingwold, 15 from Malton. Population 417. Here is a Church, the living is a curacy.
