"OVER SILTON, (or High Silton) a parish in the wapentake of Birdforth; 6 miles E. of Northallerton. The parish church (see Churches for photograph), is a perpetual curacy, in the patronage of the Earl of Fauconberg, and the Rev. Edward Greenwood is the incumbent. Pop. 94."
"KEPWICK, in the parishes of Leake, Cowesby, and Over-Silton, and wapentake of Birdforth; 1¾ miles SE. of Over Silton, 8 miles NNE. of Thirsk. Pop. 170." - -(See Leake for directory)
