The place:

A Chapelry in the parish of Stainton, west-division of Langbargh; 2 miles from Stockton (Co. Durham), 4 from Yarm, 7½ from Stokesley, 12 from Guisborough. Population 197. The Chapel here is a perpetual curacy under Stainton.
