A parish in the wapentake of Bulmer, Liberty of St. Peter; 6 miles from York, 9 from Easingwold, 13 from Malton. Population 378. The Church, a prebendal peculiar, is a vicarage, dedicated to St. Mary, in the deanery of Bulmer.
