"GRIMWITH, a hamlet in the parish of Burnsall. Grimwith is now under Grimwith reservoir which was built in 1867 and covered other farm houses such as Stoners Lathe, Dry Bank Lathe, Beck Shaw Lathe. In the 1970s the reservoir was enlarged to some 7 times its original size and covered some other houses including Gate Up and Low Lathe.
