The place:

A parish town, in Morley division of Agbrigg and Morley, Liberty of Pontefract; 4 miles from Bradford, 7 from Leeds and Otley, 31 from York. Population, including Farsley 2,605, which being united, form a township. The Church is a vicarage, dedicated to St. Wilfred, in the deanery of Bradford.
