  • New-street, John Goward, Post Master.
  • Letters for London & Manchester are despatched by the Mail at five every morning, and arrive every evening at half-past eight.
  • Letters for Halifax and York are despatched by horse post at half-past ten every morning, and again to Halifax and Leeds by another horse Mail every evening at six, and arrive from Leeds and Halifax at half past seven every morning, and another from York and Halifax every afternoon at three.
  • Foreign letters, byway of Halifax, are despatched every Monday and Thursday morning at half-past ten.
  • Foot posts to Honley, Holmfirth, Slaithwaite, Marsden, Almondbury, Kirk Burton, Crossland, Netherton, Meltham, Deighton, Rastrick, Brighouse, Dalton, Kirk Heaton, Lepton, Lindley and Out Lane, every morning, except Tuesdays, at half-past eight.
