pr. 15 May 1576 [Vol. 20, fos, 27, 28]. For my mortuarie, as the lawes of this realm requireth.
To the church of Leedes, 16d. for tithes forgotten, if anie such be. Debts, &c. Each of my god-children,
4d. To William Samson, my cossinge, , one ewe with a lambe. To Frauncis S., my son, one long table
in the howse, standinge upon a frayme, with a forme, and my best chere, with a counter, and other heirloumes,
which my father left me in Wourtley and Farneley. The said Frauncis S., my son, to pay unto and content
my two daughters, Margaret and Jane S., his sisters, 13l. 6s. 8d. forth of my lands in Farnley, or otherwaies.
If he refuse, they to receive of Christopher Wise, my tenante, 40s. yearly for 8 years, till they have
received £26 toward their preferment in marriage. Jane, my wife, and Frauncis, my son, executors.
Mr. John Hopton, my maister, John Gibson, my brother-in-lawe, and John Weste, supervisors. Witnesses
- Thomas Watson, John Giebson, Raphe Sampson, and John Weste. -
