1570 - pr. 20 March 1570-1: Body to be buried in parish church of Leeds. Debts and funeral expenses
to be paid. Rest to be divided [except my fermhold] into three parts - one to the performance of this
will, one to Elizabeth my wife, and the other to all my three children, John C., Thomas C., Elizabeth
C., equally divided. To the said Elizabeth my wife, my amblinge mare, 2 old rials of gold. To the poor,
5 quarters of wheat. Residue to my daughter Elizabeth C. Also to the said Elizabeth my wife, my fermhold
of CatBeeston for three years after my decease, paying to the landlord the accustomed rent, and also
to the said Elizabeth my daughter, 10l per year, till the full some of 30l be paid. After the three
years the lease to go to the said John C., and Thomas C., till expiry, paying therefore yearly to my
said daughter Elizabeth 10l till her child's portion of 200 marks be maid, towards the advancement of
her marriage. My wife Elizabeth to enjoy the third part of the fermhold for life after the three years.
She and my son John C. executors. To every one of my three sisters, 10s. To the said John C., the
occupation of the ferm till his brother Thomas C., attain the age of 16 years, so that he kepe the said
Thomas at school till he attain that age. Witnesses - Brian Beiston, gentleman, William Cassenne, John
Killingebecke, William Gaille, John [Bradley?], Thomas Cassone, and other mo. To each of my children
a gold ring. To either of my two servants, William Saxton & Arthur Blenkinsoppe, an ewe. To every of
my other servants 12d. a piece.
