[Reg. Test. 20, Fol. 133]. Dated 15 September 1576; proved 19 January 1576. To the poor, 40s.
To John C., my son, all my shop gear, &c., and one bed standing in the parler next the street,
which he now useth to lye in, and one pair of lynnen sheetes and one paire of samaron sheets,
over and besides those which lyeth of the same bedde; also two cooddes, two pillowes, and one
coverlett of blew and yellowe, fellow unto that coverlett which I gave my son Thomas C., and one
harden boorde cloth, one samaron boordeclothe and one towell, and one kever now standing in
the boultinge house, and and the corne and wood about the house. To my son James C., 40
markes, one silver spone, which was his grandmother's towley. To my daughter Marie C., 20£.
and one bed, &c., one cupbord and a kever to be made for her of the wood about the house. To
each of my sons, a 13s. 4d. in gold, called an old noble , and to each of my daughters, a 15s. in
gold, called a spure riall. To Isabel Sharpus, my servant, one pair of blankets, &c. To Sibell
Simpson, one of the daughters of my last brother-in-law, Richard S., deceased, my best
cassocke. To my sister-in-law, Uxor Haynes, my best capp and hatt, one Kirchife, one Rale, a
patledde, a petticote, and a sameron appron. To Isabel Beynes, her daughter, my workeyday
cote, one petticote, a pallett, &c. To her son Michael, 1£. 3s. 4d. To my said son, Thomas C.,
and his assigns, my close called Beaten Ellers, to pay the accustomed rent of 20s. to the
landlord. To John C., half the charges and services of the said close by vertue of lease by Mr.
Francis Harve, esquier, and Mrs. Marie his (wife?). To my son John C., my tenement, &c., in
Leeds. Executors: - My sons John C. and James C., and my daughter Marie C. Supervisors: -
Brother Win C., Richard Simson, William Colcole, and John Dixsone. Witnesses: - Alexander
Fassett, Vicar of Leeds, said William Casson, Richard Sympson, William Hargraves, scolem,
[schoolmaster], there with others.
