1576; proved 24 April 1577. Body to be buried in parish church of Leeds, "neare unto my stall
or pue there." My cottaige or tenement, with all the houses and edifices thereupon buylded, in
Kirkgate, and my close called Gallow Flatte, otherwise Gallowhill Flat [4 acres], at Gallowe Hill
in Leeds, now in my occupation, to Elizabeth, my wife, and her assigns, during her life; remainder
to George W., my son, his heirs and assigns; remainder to Robert, my son, remainder to
Elizabeth W., my daughter, according to the custom of the manor of Leeds. Also to the said
Elizabeth, my wife, the occupation of my close called Leekaye, with its appurtenances. Daughter
Frances W., to have occupation thereof after my wife's decease, for one year; then son William
and his wife Edith for their lives; then the lease and release thereof to William W., one of the sons
of my son William W. Poor 20s. Goods after debts, &c., three parts. One to the performance
of this will; one to my wife, Elizabeth; and the third to be divided equally among my six children
that are unmarried, viz., Robert, George, Agnes, Elizabeth, Isabel, and Fraunces W. Also to each
of my said daughters, 40s. Executors: - Elizabeth, my wife, Robert, George, Agnes, Elizabeth,
Isabel, and Frances W. Witnesses: - William Marshall, Robert Symson, of Leeds maynrede,
said William Wilson, Henry Kitchine, with others.
