proved 20 November 1585: - Body to be buried in parish church of Leeds, where Margaret, my well-
beloved wyfe was latlie buried." Vicar of Leeds to have his mortuary. Lands and tenements,
reserved by indendure between me and Thomas Grimstone, Esq., dated 30 November, 11 Eliz., of
the yearly value of 20 marks, in the parish of Myrfield, to give to any person for one man's lyfe, so
that they be no part of the demesne lands there, and also one anuytie of the yearly value of 20
marks out of the said lands, &c., in parish of Myrfield and Heton for 20 years. Therefore I give
messuages, lands, and hdts. in parish of Myrfeld, of the clear yearly value of 20 marks, to the
right worshippeful Sir Thomas Danbie, knight, William Danbie, and Michaell Wentworthe, esq., for
5 years after my death to the use of Marie Wentworthe, sister of the said Michael W., to whom I
am grandfather. To said Marie W., the anuytie of 20 marks out of my manor of Myrfield, and my
messuages, &c., in the towns of Myrfield and Heton for 5 years. To Phillippe Shaw, son of George
S., unto whom I am grandfather, 6£. 13s. 4d. To Peter Shawe, Marmaduke S., William S.,
Thomas S., his brethren, and Mary and Elizabeth S., his sisters, 6£ 13s. 4d. each. If Edward
Beaumont, my son-in-law, do assure to Elizabeth, his wife, my daughter, messuages, &c., in the
co. of York, of the clear yearly value of 10£. above all out-rents and repryse, he shall have 20£.
To every one of my daughters, 20s. My daughter-in-law, 20s. To John Gascoigne, of Sturton,
10s. To John, son of Gabriel Grene, 40s. To Thomas Hopton, my son, a yearly rent of 20s. out
of my messuage and lands in Selbie. Each of my servants, a black coat over and above their
liveries. Witnesses: - Sir Thomas Danbie, knight, William Danbie Esq., George Talior, John
Hansone, the elder, and James Sonyer, with others. A codicil states that Edward Beaumont's
conditional legacy of 20£ is the 20£. promised to him at marriage with testator's daughter on
consideration of the feoffement to be made to the use of the said Elizabeth by the said Edward.
