Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"STAVELEY, a parish in the lower,division of the wapentake of CLARO, West riding of the county of YORK, 3 miles S.S.W. from JBoroughbridge, containing 331 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Honour court of Knaresborough, rated in the king's books at £8. 17. 11., and in the patronage of the Rev. G. Astley. The church is dedicated to All Saints."
