TADCASTER: Tadcaster Congregational Church History up to 1868.

An old congregation existed here under the title of "Tadcaster and Clifford." It is mentioned in Neal's list of 1715, but without being characterized as either Presbyterian or Congregational. Lady Hewley contributed to its funds.

In 1864 a modern congregation was begun at Tadcaster, under the auspices of the West Riding Home Missionary Society. It is now no longer on their list.
