Summary History:
A brief history of the church appears on the congregation's website, which is extracted from the book "Hewn from a Rock:the story of the 1st Antrim Presbyterian Church" (see below) and can be summarised as:
- *1726: Congregation founded, originally meeting in the home of one of the members and later in a building near Masserene Castle.
- 1729: First Meeting House build in Millrow (now Riverside).
- c1800: Meeting House rebuilt on the Millrow site.
- 1837: New Meeting House opened further east, on the (current) Church Street site.
- 1860: Congregation changed its name from Millrow to First Antrim Presbyterian.
* Note that this is much later than the earliest Registers held by PRONI (according to PRONI's church records guide)
