In 1868, the parish of Templepatrick contained the following places:

"TEMPLEPATRICK, a parish and post town in the baronies of Upper and Lower Belfast, county Antrim, province of Ulster, Ireland, 6 miles N.W. of Belfast. The surface is mountainous, consisting of grazing land, with some bog. It is crossed by the road from Belfast to Londonderry. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Connor, value £240. The church was erected in 1837, by means of a gift of the late Board of First Fruits. There are four National and five private schools. The principal residence is Castle Upton. The family of the Uptons take their title from this place. There are quarries of limestone and basalt, and the weaving of linen and calico is carried on. The ruins of Cairn Grains cromlech, with several other raths, and the Templars' church, in the crypt of which is the tomb of Josias Welsh, grandson of Knox, are in this parish. The Templepatrick presbytery includes Antrim, Crumlin, Duncane, Dundrod, Donegore, Killcad, Lynehill, Muckamore, Randlestown, and Templepatrick."

"HYDE PARK, a locality in the parish of Templepatrick, county Antrim, province of Ulster, Ireland, 6 miles from Belfast, near the Ballymoney road. It is notable for its extensive calicoprinting works. There are also several private seats of this name in various parts of Ireland."

"MOLUSK GRANGE, a grange in the parish of Templepatrick, barony of Lower Belfast, county Antrim, province of Ulster, Ireland, 6 miles S. of Ballyclare. It is 1½ mile long by 1 broad. The soil is mostly good. The road from Belfast to Ballymena traverses the interior. The living is part of Carrickfergus, in the diocese of Connor. Here is a Methodist meeting-house and a day school."

"ROUGHFORT, a village in the parish of Templepatrick, barony of Lower Belfast, county Antrim, province of Ulster, Ireland. Fairs are held on 31st May and 29th November."

"UMGALL-GRANGE, a former parish now in the parish of Templepatrick, in the barony of Upper Belfast, county Antrim, Ireland, 5 miles N.W. of Belfast, on the road to Antrim."
