"ARDOYNE, a parish partly in the baronies of Rattivelly and Forth, in the county of Carlow, partly in the barony of Shillelagh, in the county of Wicklow, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the S.E. of Tullow. It is situated in a fertile district on the river Burren. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, value £50, in the patronage of the incumbents of Fennagh and Barragh."
