In 1868, the parish of Drumline contained the following places:

"DRUMLINE, a parish in the barony of Lower Bunratty, in the county of Clare, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles S.W. of Sixmile Bridge. Magheralin is its post town. It is situated on the river Shannon, and the road from Limerick to Ennis passes through the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Killaloe, value with Traddery, £509, in the patronage of Lord Leconfield. The vicarage belongs to the benefice of Kilnasoolagh, value £158, in the patronage of the bishop. The principal seat is Drumline House. There are ruins of a castle at Smithstown."
