In 1868, the parish of Kilfintinan contained the following places:

"KILFINTINAN AND ISLANDS, a parish in the barony of Lower Bunratty, county Clare, province of Munster, Ireland, containing part of the post town of Sixmilebridge. The parish is 3 miles long by 2 broad, and extends along the stream Ougarnee to the Shannon. The surface is about half poor land, the remainder fair arable soil. It is traversed by the road from Limerick to Ennis. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Limerick, value £52. There are two united Roman Catholic chapels, and four day schools. Crasloe Wood is the principal seat. Colonel Wyndham is lord of the manor."
