In 1868, the parish of Killonaghan contained the following places:"KILLONAGHAN, a parish in the barony of Burrens, county Clare, province of Munster, Ireland, 9 miles N. of Ennistimon, its post town. It is 4 miles long by 3 broad, and contains the village of Fermoyle. The surface consists chiefly of barren upland. Slieve-Elva is a prominent feature in the E. of the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Kilfenora, value with Rathbourne, £247, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Rathbourne. There is a hedge-school Lead ore is found among the hills.
