The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballinaboy contained the following places:

"BALLINABOY, a parish chiefly in the barony of Kinalea, partly also in the baronies of Kerricurrihy and East Muskerry, in the county of Cork, and partly in the county of the city of Cork, in the province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles to the S.W. of Cork. It is situated on the banks of the river Annabuoy, and was once a possession of the abbey of St. Finbarr. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Cork, Ross, and Cloyne, of the value of £44, in the patronage of the Earl of Shannon. The principal seats are Ballinaboy House, Tuligmore House, and Mount Mary."

"BALLINASSIG, (or Ballinhassig), a village in the barony of Kerrycurrihy, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 10 miles to the S.W of Cork. It is a station on the Cork and Bandon railway.
