The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballintemple contained the following places:

"BALLINTEMPLE, a parish in the barony of Imokilly, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles to the S.E. of Middleton. It is situated at a short distance from the mouth of Cork harbour, and contains Churchtown. The living is a rectory united with the vicarage of Lisgoold in the diocese of Cork, Ross, and Cloyne.

"CHURCHTOWN, a village in the parish of Ballintemple, in the barony of Imokilly, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland."
