The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballyfoyle contained the following places:

"BALLYFOYLE, a parish in the barony of Kinalea, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles to the N.E. of Kinsale. It is situated on the sea-coast, near the entrance to Cork Harbour. There is a coastguard station at Robert's Cove, a sheltered haven in this parish. At the same place is a good slate quarry. The living is a perpetual curacy impropriate, in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross."
