The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballyhay contained the following places:

"BALLYHAY, (or Ballyhea), a parish in the baronies of Fermoy, Orrery, and Kilmore, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles to the S.E. of Chareville. It lies in a fertile district on the border of the county of Limerick. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross, of the value with Charlevillo of £566, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is decayed.
