The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballynoe contained the following places:

"BALLYNOE, a parish in the barony of Kinnatalloon, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 9 miles to the E. of Rathcormack. It is situated in a fertile district, near the river Bride, a branch of the Blackwater. The living is a vicarage united with that of Knockmourne, in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross."
