The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Carrigleamleary contained the following places:

"CARRIGLEAMLEARY, a parish in the barony of Fermoy, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles to the N.E. of Mallow. It lies in a cultivated district on the N. side of the river Blackwater, and was the site of a castle, of which there are some picturesque ruins. Limestone is obtained in the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross, value £126, in the patronage of the bishop. The church, erected about 1835, is a small edifice in the perpendicular style. It stands on the site of the old parish church. The principal seat is Carrig Park, which is situated in a pleasant spot near the castle ruins, and commands a beautiful prospect."
