The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Carrigrohanebeg contained the following places:

"CARRIGROHANEBEG, (or Kilgrohanbeg), a parish in the barony of East Muskerry, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the W. of Cork. It is situated in a rich tract of pasture-land on the banks of the Lee, where the Avonbeg falls into it. The scenery along the valley of the Avonbeg is remarkably beautiful. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, Ross, and Cloyne, value £131, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is decayed and overgrown with ivy. The chief mansion is Woodside.
