The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Cooliney contained the following places:

"COOLINEY, (or COOLINE), a parish in the baronies of Orrery and Kilmore, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S.W. of Charleville, its post town. The soil is of very superior quality, and limestone is procurable in places. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Cloyne, in the patronage of the bishop. Public worship is performed in a schoolroom at Shandrum. The chief residence is Cooliney House.
