The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Currykippane contained the following places:

"CURRYKIPPANE, a parish in the barony and county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles W. of Cork city. Ballincollig is its post town. It is beautifully situated on the rivers Lee and Awnbeg. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, value with Carrigrohane, £697, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is in ruins. There is a military chapel, and a Roman Catholic chapel united to North chapel, Cork. There is a day school for boys and girls. In the vicinity are many handsome residences."
