The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Farahy contained the following places:

"FARAHY, (or Farihy), a parish in the baronies of Condons and Clangibbon and Fermoy, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 7 miles S.W. of Mitchellstown. It is situated on the banks of the river Fanshion. Kildorrery is its post town. The surface is hilly, and consists of an average good soil. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cloyne, value £356, in the patronage of the crown. The church is without any architectural pretensions. In the Roman Catholic arrangement the parish is united to the Kildorrery district. Here is a Sunday-school. The principal residence is Bowenscourt.
