The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ightermurragh contained the following places:

"IGHTERMURRAGH, a parish in the barony of Imokilly, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, containing the village of Ladies-Bridge and a portion of the town of Castle-Martyr, which is its post town. It is 3 miles long by 2 broad. The surface consists of good soil, and is traversed by a small stream called the Dower. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Cloyne, value £405, in the patronage of the crown. Carey's-Wood is the principal residence. The church is about a century old. There is a Roman Catholic chapel, which is united to those of Ballymacoda and Shanbally. Here are also two day-schools."

"LADYSBRIDGE, a village in the parish of Ightermurragh, barony of Imokilly, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 1 mile S. of Castlemartyr."
