The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilbroney contained the following places:

"KILBRONEY, a parish in the barony of Orrery and Kilmore, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland. Buttevant is its post town. The parish is 2 miles long by 1½ mile broad. The soil is good. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Cloyne, value with Buttevant, £129, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is a ruin, standing in an old burial-ground. The parish is included in the Roman Catholic district of Buttevant. There are ruins of Ballinguile Castle, and remains of an old residence of the Fitzjameses."
