The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilnagross contained the following places:

"KILNAGROSS, a parish in the barony of East Carbery, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles N.N.E. of Clonakilty, its post town. It is 3 miles long by half a mile broad. The soil is generally good, and is drained by the Arigadeen stream. The parish is crossed by the road from Clonakilty to Cork. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ross, value £215, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built about 1830. There are Sunday and daily schools. Shannondale is the principal residence. Slate is found."
