The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Templebodan contained the following places:

"TEMPLEBODAN, a parish in the barony of Barrymore, county Cork, province of Munster, Ireland, 5 miles S.S.E. of Rathcormack. Cork is its post town. The surface consists of first-rate pasture land and some little extent of bog. It is traversed by the road from Middleton to Fermoy. The river Middleton takes its rise near here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cloyne, value £140, in the patronage of the bishop. Here is a private school. The principal residences are Cadogan and Dunlarich. The ruins of the castle of Rathgabbane stand in this parish.
