The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Wallstown contained the following places:

"WALLSTOWN, a parish in the barony of Fermoy, county Cork, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Doneraile. The village is situated on the river Awbeg. The land is fertile, upon a substratum of limestone. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Cork, value £400, in the patronage of the bishop. The church has long been in ruins. The principal seats are Wallatown House, Ballywater, and Wallstown Castle, the last the old seat of the Walls family, which was confiscated and given by Cromwell to the Ruddocks, but is now a ruin."
