The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Raymunterdoney contained the following places:

"RAYMUNTERDONEY, a parish in the barony of Kilmacrenan, county Donegal, province of Ulster, Ireland, 4 miles S.W. of Dunfanaghy, its post town. The surface lies along the coast, and -is generally mountainous. The living is a rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Raphoe, value £301, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was erected in 1803 by means of a gift from the late Board of First Fruits. There are a Roman Catholic chapel and two schools; the latter partly supported by private donations. There is a dispensary in this parish. Ballyconnell and Carrow-cannon are the principal seats. In the old churchyard is an ancient cross. Fairs are held on the last Thursday in each month.
